City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on January 10, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Curt Determan, Sheila Ryker, Shawna Dorr-Jones. Sharen Goeman, Clerk. Absent: Council member: Jacob Barlow, Lance Holmen, Maintenance.
Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Minutes from the December 13, 2022, meeting was approved as read.

The council reviewed City Offices. Motion Determan, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote to keep the city offices the same except to add the Lamberton News as a city publisher.

The City of Jeffers DOES NOT WAIVE Monetary Limits on municipal tort liability established by the Minnesota Statutes, Section 466.04 to the extent of the limits of the liability coverage obtained from the LMCIT.

Resolution setting fees and charges for 2023
Adopted: Ryker Seconded: Determan Unanimous vote.
Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to give a cost of living increase to city staff of 3%.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker to increase Animal Controls annual stipend to $400 and set each trip to the vet at $50. Discussion was held regarding purchasing kennels was tabled.
An estimate was submitted by Lance to trade in the plow for the city truck at a difference of $6,495.80 for a new plow. Motion Determan, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote to go ahead with the purchase.

  A letter will be sent to a resident with a vehicle buried in snow.
 
The clerk will check on pool table licenses in the area.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial reports.

Motion Ryker, second Determan to adjourn at 7:20 p.m. having no further business.

Motion Determan, second Barlow to pay all bills, unanimous vote.

Motion Determan, second Barlow unanimous vote to adjourn at 7:24 p.m. with no further business.
