City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on August 14, 2023, at 7 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Curt Determan, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Sheila Ryker, Mike Schoper, Sharen Goeman, Clerk, Lance Holmen, Maintenance.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Minutes from the July 24, 2023, meeting was approved as read.

Visitor: Kathleen Smith

Smith was present to speak with the council regarding the garage on her property.

Smith will check into options and report back to the clerk.

Jeffers tax forfeited properties were discussed.

A letter will be sent to property owners regarding unlicensed vehicles and grass.

Building permits for Ivan Carter and Karla Shepard were reviewed. Motion Determan, second Schoper, unanimous vote to approve the permits.

Lance presented estimates for options for the pickleball court in the city park.
The land for the future firehall was discussed.

The clerk reported on information for Board of Appeal and Equalization training.

The clerk reported information on an upcoming hearing regarding a Cannabis Ordinance for Cottonwood County.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:47 p.m. having no further business.
