City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on August 28, 2023, at 7 p.m. at City Hall.

Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Curt Determan, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Sheila Ryker, Mike Schoper. Sharen Goeman, Clerk, Lance Holmen, Maintenance.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Minutes from the August 14, 2023, meeting was approved as read.

Visitors: John and Peggy Hubley

The Hubleys were present to discuss the pickleball court in the park. The pickleball group from Jeffers is willing to paint the lines on the court using a template borrowed from the City of Storden.

Motion Schoper, second Ryker, unanimous vote to purchase paint and 2 nets for the pickleball court at the city park.

RESOLUTION #2023-08 APPROVING PARCEL FOR PUBLIC AUCTION

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan unanimous vote.

A fence permit was reviewed by the council.

Motion Ryker, second Schoper, unanimous vote.

A letter will be sent to a resident regarding storing garbage on their property. The clerk will check into annexation with Amboy township.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial report.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:10 p.m. having no further business.
