City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on October 9, 2023, at 7 p.m. at City Hall.

Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Shawna Dorr-Jones, Sheila Ryker, Curt Determan. Sharen Goeman, Clerk. Lance Holmen, Maintenance. Absent: Council: Mike Schoper

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Minutes from the September 11, 2023, meeting was approved as read.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote to approve Resolution #2023-09 Accepting Grant Navigator Funding of $5,000 to be used to enter into an agreement with Bolton & Menk to find additional grant funding for a project on Peavey Street.

The clerk informed the council that Red Rock Rural Water is increasing the cost of water. Motion Determan, second Ryker, unanimous vote to raise the base rate for city water to $27.50 and raise the amount charged per thousand gallons to $4.00. Due to the cost of water from RRRW.

Lance reported that the refrigerator at city hall is unrepairable. Motion Determan, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote to replace the refrigerator.

Trick or Treat hours for Halloween are set for Tuesday, October 31, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial report.

Motion Ryker, second Determan unanimous vote to adjourn at 7:40 p.m. having no further business.
