City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on October 23, 2023, at 7 p.m. at City Hall.

Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Shawna Dorr-Jones, Sheila Ryker, Curt Determan, Mike Schoper Sharen Goeman, Clerk. Absent: Lance Holmen, Maintenance.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Minutes from the October 9, 2023, meeting was approved as read.

Visitor: June Glander

Glander was present to request the city utility assessments on the property at 308 N. Deaver Avenue that she purchased at the tax forfeiture auction be waived.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote to waive the city assessments on the property at 308 N. Deaver Avenue.

Motion Determan, second Schoper, unanimous vote to approve the donation of land from Elton and Susan Goeman in the SE 14, Sec 19, T107 N, R36W of Amboy Township.

The clerk explained that once the parcel of land is owned by the City of Jeffers, the attorney will proceed with the annexation into the city of Jeffers for the proposed fire hall.

The clerk presented the First Responder Pay for the 2022-2023 year. Motion Ryker, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Schoper, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial report.
Motion Ryker, second Determan unanimous vote to adjourn at 7:35 p.m. having no further business.
