City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on April 22, 2024, at 7:00
p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Sheila Ryker,
Shawna Dorr-Jones. Sharen Goeman, Clerk, Lance Holmen, Maintenance.
Absent: Council: Michael Schoper, Curt Determan

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Minutes from the April 8,
2024, meeting was approved as read.

Visitor: Jed Rhubee, Fire Chief

The council reviewed action items requested from ID8 Architecture. ID8 is
requesting more information to prepare for the federal grant application
process and planning for the fire hall.

The council tabled these items until more information can be obtained from
Pinpoint and ID8 Architecture.

The clerk will forward the city attorneys recommendations for the
engineering contract to Clint Powell at Pinpoint Corporation.

Lance requested approval to purchase a pump for the sewer pond for
approximately $22,000.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote.

Motion Ryker, second Dorr-Jones to hire a street sweeper, unanimous vote.

Motion Ryker, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote to hire Z-Door Men to fix
the fire department overhead doors.

The city of Jeffers has received an $80,000 grant from the DNR to remove and
replace ash trees.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan to pay all bills and approve the financial
report, unanimous vote.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:13 p.m.
