City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in a REGULAR session on September 23, 2024, at
7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Sheila
Ryker, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Michael Schoper, Curt Determan; Sharen Goeman,
Clerk. Lance Holmen, Maintenance.

Visitors: Clint Powell, Austin Claeys, and Angela Boersma
Angela Boersma presented the site plans for the proposed fire station.
The projected cost is 2.5 million. Financing options were discussed with the
council.

Powell suggested moving forward with a possible congressional
appropriation. This would be for the year 2026. The request would go in
following January or February 2025 after they finish the budget.
Powell and his team will be back next month with a full plan.
The clerk will send a letter to a resident regarding a large tree limb covering a
city sidewalk.

The clerk requested reimbursement for personal cell phone usage of
$30/month: Motion Determan, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote.
Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan unanimous vote to pay the bills and

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:40 p.m.
