City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

Jeffers City Council met in the REGULAR session on January 27, 2025, at 7 p.m. at City Hall. Present:
Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Curt Determan, Sheila Ryker, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Michael Schoper.
Lance Holmen, Maintenance; Sharen Goeman, Clerk.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Minutes from January 13, 2025, meeting was approved
as read.

The city hall janitor has requested a $1.00/ hour raise. Motion Dorr-Jones, second Schoper to increase the
city hall janitor wage to $26/hour. Unanimous vote.

The clerk reported that Travis Anderson is interested in putting an impound lot on the LA Motorsports
property on the corner of Best Avenue and Peavey Street.

The council requested that Anderson attend the next meeting with more information.

The City of Jeffers Board of Appeals meeting is set for Wednesday, April 30th at 5 p.m. The clerk will check
on training expiration dates.

Council Michael Schoper took the oath of office for his 2025  2029 term.

Mayor Prins reported that alleyways need to be trimmed of trees and bushes to eight feet from the edge of
alley. This is important for emergency and utility services. A letter will go out later to all residents.
Seal coating of the city streets will be tentatively set for 2026.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to approve all bills and the financial report.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 7:33 p.m. having no further business.
