City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

Jeffers City Council met in the REGULAR session on February 10, 2025, at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
Present: Council members: Curt Determan, Sheila Ryker, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Michael
Schoper. Lance Holmen, Absent: Mayor Brad Prins, Sharen Goeman, Clerk.

Mayor Pro Tem called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Minutes from January 27, 2025,
meeting was approved as read.

Visitor: Travis Anderson
Anderson informed the council that he would be working with Windom River Towing. An 8
ft chain link fence with mesh would be installed on the west and north side of the building.
Rock would cover all grass within the fenced area. There are regulations that need to be
followed in order to get a permit from the state. He has been turned down by the cities of
Windom and Bingham Lake.

River Towing will be contacted and asked to attend the next council meeting.

The Jeffers Fire Department voted to raise the fee for fire protection for townships to $300/
section from $225/section. Motion Dorr-Jones, second Schoper unanimous vote to approve
the increase.

Dog issues were discussed. The clerk will send a letter to a resident regarding dog ordinance.
Motion Dorr-Jones, second Schoper, unanimous vote to approve all bills and the financial
report.

Motion Ryker, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote to adjourn at 7:40 p.m. having no further
business.
