City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

Jeffers City Council met in the REGULAR session on March 10, 2025, at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
Present: Mayor Brad Prins; Council members: Sheila Ryker, Shawna Dorr-Jones,
Michael Schoper. Lance Holmen, Maintenance; Sharen Goeman, Clerk . Absent: Council:
Curt Determan,

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Minutes from February 24, 2025, meeting
was approved as read.

The clerk presented an Engagement Letter for bookkeeping from Burkhardt & Burkhardt.
After reviewing the letter, motion Dorr-Jones, second Schoper, unanimous vote to approve
the engagement letter.

Lance presented estimates for tree removal.

Crown Tree: $34,850

Keck Tree Service: $13,275

Motion Schoper, second Ryker, unanimous vote to approve the estimate for Keck Tree
Service to remove ash trees from city properties.

Hunter Ekstrom and Frank Kerkvliet are interested in opening a car dealership in the LA
Motorsports building. The clerk will ask the parties to attend the next council meeting on
March 24, 2025.

City wide cleanup day will be on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Residents will be asked to pay a
$20 fee for the service.

A complaint letter from a resident was reviewed.

Mayor Prins has called Clint from Pinpoint Consulting with no response.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Schoper, unanimous vote to approve all bills and the financial
report.

Motion Ryker, second Schoper, unanimous vote to adjourn at 7:48 p.m. having no further
business.
