City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

Jeffers City Council met in the REGULAR session on March 24, 2025, at 7 p.m. at City Hall.

Present: Mayor Brad Prins; Council members: Sheila Ryker, Shawna Dorr-Jones,
Curt Determan, Michael Schoper. Lance Holmen, Maintenance; Sharen Goeman, Clerk .

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Minutes from March 10, 2025, meeting
was approved as read.

Visitors: Beth Stumpf, Skyler Martin, Hunter Ekstrom, Frank Kerkvliet

Kerkvliet and Ekstrom were present to discuss their plans for new business in town in the
LA Motorsports building. Plans include a repair shop for cars and sales if the dealership
license is approved. Motion Determan, second Ryker, unanimous vote to approve moving
forward with the new business.

Stumpf and Martin were present to discuss council requests better dimensions for the
fence before approval.

Mayor Prins touched base with Pinpoint Corporation and Clint Powell plans to be in
Washington DC soon to discuss a congressionally directed spending request with Senator
Klobuchar to fund a fire hall for the City. Mayor Prins also spoke with Rod Hamilton,
Economic Development Director for the City of Mountain Lake regarding spec buildings.

Reports on roosters within city limits were discussed. The clerk will send letters to
residents explaining that roosters are not allowed within the city.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan unanimous vote to approve all bills and the financial
report.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:30 p.m. having no further
business.
