City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

Jeffers City Council met in the REGULAR session on June 9, 2025, at 7 p.m. at
City Hall. 

Present: Mayor Brad Prins; Council members: Sheila Ryker, Shawna
Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan, Michael Schoper ; Sharen Goeman, Clerk . Lance
Holmen, Maintenance.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Minutes from May 21, 2025,
meeting was approved as read.

Visitor: Cory Schroeder  Jeffers Fire Department

Schroeder was present to propose the purchase of a 2005 Tanker/ Pumper
truck replacing the 1985 Tanker. The purchase price is $125,000.
Motion Dorr-Jones, second Schoper, unanimous vote to approve the purchase.

A building permit was reviewed to move a storage shed on a property.
Motion Schoper, second Ryker, unanimous vote to approve the building permit.

A Mortgage Satisfaction for a city resident from the City of Jeffers Owner-
Occupied Small Cities Development Program that has been satisfied on January
24, 2017, was reviewed. Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote.

There are city residents that are interested in the first responder course. The
clerk will check into available classes.

The next meeting will be rescheduled to June 30, 2025, at 7 p.m.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills and
approve the financial report.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 7:50 p.m.
