City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

Jeffers City Council met in the REGULAR session on June 28, 2025, at 7 p.m. at
City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins; Council members: Sheila Ryker, Shawna
Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan, Michael Schoper ; Sharen Goeman, Clerk . Lance
Holmen, Maintenance.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Minutes from June 9, 2025,
meeting was approved as read.

Visitor: Troy Rasmussen  Federated Broadband

Rasmussen was present to get permission from the council to bring a fiber optic
cable into the city of Jeffers for high-speed internet. Rasmussen stated that all
city residents and businesses will have the opportunity to have fiber optic cable
to their home or place of business by the end of the year.

Federated Broadband will be mailing information in the near future. They will
require consent to bring the individual service to your property.

Motion Ryker second Schoper to raise the first responder rate for runs to
$30/run and for firefighters who show up to assist to $20/run. Unanimous vote.

The clerk will check on the county ordinance for storage of tires and send a
letter to a business owner.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills and
approve the financial report.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:05 p.m.
