City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

Jeffers City Council met in the REGULAR session on October 27, 2025,
at 7 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins; Council members: Sheila Ryker, Shawna
Dorr-Jones, Michael Schoper, Curt Determan; Lance Holmen, Maintenance. Sharen
Goeman, Clerk.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Minutes from October 13, 2025, meeting
was approved as read.

Visitor: Jordan Albrecht  Bolton & Menk

Albrecht was present to discuss grant funding opportunities for Local
Road Improvement Program (LRIP) and a water tower rehab project.

Motion Determan, second Ryker, unanimous vote for Bolton & Menk to proceed with
applications for the previously referenced projects for an approximate cost of $3,500 in
application fees.

Dogs in town were discussed.

The clerk presented correspondence from Red Rock Rural Water regarding a rate increase
beginning January 1, 2026. Discussion for the citys rates was tabled until next meeting.
A house in town was discussed that is open to trespassers and houses wild animals was
discussed. The mayor will contact a building inspector.

Correspondence from the MN Dept of Health was reviewed by the council regarding the
Lead/Copper Tap Water Monitoring report.

The clerk presented a schedule for an initial EMR (Emergency Medical Responders).
Notices will be posted in town to alert potential individuals who may be interested in the
class. Those interested should attend a council meeting to discuss.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan to pay all bills and approve the financial report.
Motion Ryker, second Determan , unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:40 p.m. having no
further business.
