City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on January 26, 2026, at 7 p.m. at City
Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Curt Determan, Shawna Dorr-
Jones, Michael Schoper. Lance Holmen, Maintenance; Sharen Goeman, Clerk. Absent:
Sheila Ryker.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Minutes from January 12, 2026,
meeting were approved as read.

Visitor: Kristi Meyeraan

Meyeraan was present to meet the council members and entertain that she was
interested in the position of city attorney. Meyeraan is presently the Jackson County
Attorney and the prosecuting attorney for Cottonwood County and has previously
worked with Ron Schramel.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Schoper, unanimous vote to approve Kristi Meyeraan as
the new city attorney.

A building permit for 207 W. Scott Street was reviewed. More information is needed
before approval can be granted.

A Subordination Agreement was reviewed for a city resident. Motion Determan,
second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote.

A computer board was replaced at the ponds.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay the bills and approve
the financial report.

Motion Schoper, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 8:10 p.m. having no
further business.
