City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on February 9, 2026, at 7 p.m. at
City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Curt Determan, Shawna
Dorr-Jones, Sheila Ryker, Michael Schoper. Sharen Goeman, Clerk. Absent: Lance
Holmen, Maintenance .

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Minutes from January 26, 2026,
meeting were approved as read.

Brokaw was present to inform the council about the Lead Line Inventory grant with
the MN Dept of Health.

The city of Jeffers has sixteen services on the private side and two on the city side
with lead/galvanized pipes.

The city needs to get on the Project priority list by March 13, 2026, to qualify for
funding in 2027. This list is good for 5 years.

Brokaw explained that in order for the money to pay for the private sector it needs
to go through the city.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote to have the city put on the Project
priority list (PPL).

Schroeder was present to discuss conversations with townships regarding the
firehall. A check for $12,727.05 was received from Amboy Township for the truck
fund.
