City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on August 24, 2026, at 7 p.m. at City Hall. 

Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Shawna Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan, Sheila Ryker, Michael
Schoper, Sharen Goeman, Clerk. Lance Holmen, Maintenance.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00p.m. Minutes from July 27, 2026, meeting were approved as read.

A building permit for Chelsey Matzke was reviewed. Motion Ryker, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote.

A building permit for Rachael Pudenz was reviewed. Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote.

Dogs running loose were discussed.

Ryker reported on a grant to replace ash trees. The clerk will contact Robin at SWRDC to discuss it.
Lance reported he has not been able to contact the company that repairs playground equipment.

Placing cameras at the city park was discussed. Lance reported on two options.

Option 1 for approximately $2,115 was voted on. Motion Determan, second Schoper, unanimous
vote to move forward with option one.

The clerk will send letters to residents regarding tree branches, mowing, and yard cleanup.

A letter to all residents will be sent regarding tree trimming for maintenance and emergency equipment.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan unanimous vote to pay the bills and approve the financial report.

Motion Ryker, second Schoper to adjourn at 7:46 p.m. having no further business.
