The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on July 11, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Shawna Dorr-Jones, Roberta Duroe, Curt Determan, Sheila Ryker; Lance Holmen, Maintenance; Absent: Sharen Goeman, Clerk.
Mayor Brad Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes of the June 27, 2011 meeting were approved as read.
Unpaid water bills were discussed. The council discussed sending all property owners that have rental property a letter stating they need to be aware of City Ordinance No. 56.
Junk vehicles that don’t have an operable license cannot be stored on property. Vehicles will be checked around town.
The council discussed the Jeff Casey house. It was noted that the windows are open and the house is full of garbage. If an animal is seen in the house the building can be condemned.
Kennel rates were discussed. The clerk will check to see if the ordinance needs to be published in order to change the fees. The fees could possibly be changed to $50 – private and $200 – commercial.
Motion Dorr-Jones, second Duroe, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial report.
Motion Ryker, second Determan, and unanimous vote to adjourn at 9:00 p.m. having no further business.
