City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on October 10, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Shawna Dorr-Jones, Roberta Duroe, Curt Determan, Sheila Ryker, Sharen Goeman, Clerk; Lance Holmen, Maintenance.

Mayor Brad Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes of the September 26, 2011 meeting were approved as read. With changes in the report from the Planning & Zoning commission meeting as follows:

“The commission recommended and ordinance stating that carts, trucks and trailers can only be parked on a city street for 5 days, with the exception of contractors’ trailers who are working on a job. Semi-trailers are not allowed to park on paved streets, with the exception of delivery vehicles.”

Motion Duroe, second Ryker, unanimous vote to adopt the Cottonwood County All-Hazard Mitigation Plan Resolution.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote to approve Halloween Trick or Treat hours on Monday, October 31, 2011 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Halloween Curfew hours of Monday, October 31, 2011 at 11 p.m. to Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 5 a.m.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Duroe, unanimous vote to approve the Home Occupation permit application submitted by Anna Rhubee for her Daycare business.

The Ambulance Financial Report and Reimbursement request was reviewed by the council. Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote for approval.

The Winter Snow Agreement between Cottonwood County and the City of Jeffers was reviewed for maintenance of CSAH 32. Mayor Prins will contact Ronn Greg, Highway Engineer.

Discussion was held with Dennis Johnson from Wenck on curb/gutter repair in town. Discussion was tabled.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker to pay all bills and approve the financial report. Unanimous vote.

Motion Ryker, second Determan to adjourn at 9 p.m. having no further business.
