The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on November 28, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Shawna Dorr-Jones, Roberta Duroe, Sheila Ryker, Curt Determan, Lance Holmen, Maintenance. Sharen Goeman, Clerk.

Mayor Brad Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes of the November 14, 2011 meeting were approved as read.

The clerk presented a list of unpaid charges for certification to property taxes.
Motion Determan, second Duroe, unanimous vote to adopt RESOLUTION #2011-05 RESOLUTION ADOPTING LIEN FOR UNPAID CHARGES

The clerk presented information on a grant application for Individuals with Disabilities (EAID) Grant Program.

Holly Todd from Inclusion Solutions contacted her office. The total cost of the improvement project is $1,185.50, which includes: 1 universally designed, accessible four-station voting booth that will permit voters with and without disabilities to vote at the same station, this provides not only privacy and independence for voters with disabilities but also provides an integrating setting for accessibility rather than a separate-but-equal alternative. Clip-on lighting, privacy curtains and four hands-free ballot magnifiers to improve voter visibility. The application will be submitted to the MN Secretary of State. Grantees will be notified of the awards by the end of the year.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote to adopt RESOLUTION #2011-06 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPLICATION FOR FUNDS UNDER THE (EAID) GRANT PROGRAM.

The clerk explained the Pay Equity form that needs to be submitted.

Lance checked on prices for Christmas banners for the street lights. It would be approximately $90/banner at a total cost of $1,500 for 13 banners, which includes 50% of the cost of the brackets.

Discussion was tabled until the next meeting when Lance will have pictures.

Motion Dorr-Jones second Determan to pay all bills and approve the financial report. Unanimous vote.

Motion Ryker, second Duroe to adjourn at 8:10 p.m. having no further business.
