City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on April 9, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Roberta Duroe, Sheila Ryker, Curt Determan, Lance Holmen, Maintenance , Sharen Goeman Clerk. Absent: Council member: Shawna Dorr-Jones.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes from the March 26, 2012 meeting were approved as read.

Visitors: Rod Rindfleisch

Rindfleisch was present to discuss plans of moving in a different manufactured home on his property. The new home will sit on his property while he takes down the old home. He plans to have this complete by late August.

Motion Duroe, second Ryker, unanimous vote to approve a building permit for Rindfleisch pending approval by the Zoning Administrator for the old manufactured home to be removed and the new home to be in place and completed by October 1, 2012

Mayor Prins reported on the LGA Funding testimony.

The Clerk presented information on the county demolition funds. The city must have the title to the property to use these funds which consist of 50% reduction in the tipping fee at the landfill.

Lance reported that the Westbrook street sweeper will be here in a couple of weeks. Holmen also reported that he plans to rent the ditch witch from Westbrook for a day at $50/hour to vacuum out storm drains.

Lance will be planting 8 new trees at the ball field on May 17th. Discussion was held on placement of trees.

A bleacher rental fee was discussed.

Motion Determan, second Ryker, unanimous vote to charge $50 when renting the ball field bleachers.

Motion Duroe, second Ryker, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial report. Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 9:14 p.m. having no further business.
