City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on April 23, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Roberta Duroe, Sheila Ryker, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan, Lance Holmen, Maintenance. Absent: Sharen Goeman Clerk.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes from the April 9, 2012 meeting were approved as read.

Motion Dorr-Jones to approve the Ambulance proposal of a price increase for the township per section fee from $25 to $35, second Determan, unanimous vote.

Motion Dorr-Jones to approve the Ambulance proposal to change the base rate from $350 to $500 and the loaded mile rate of $10 to $14, second Duroe, unanimous vote.

Motion Dorr-Jones to send Ambulance contracts to Highwater, Amo and Carson, second Duroe, unanimous vote.

A building permit for Amboy Township was reviewed. A fuel storage tank needs to go from inside to outside the building and installed on a cement pad. The tank will have a double liner.

Motion Duroe, to approve permit pending state regulations and approval by zoning committee, second Determan, unanimous vote.

Discussion was held on the ordinance for delinquent water, sewer and garbage bills.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Duroe to raise the water/garbage/sewer to deposit from $150 to $225.

The Zoning Commission recommended
· new ordinance stating that the gas company should set parameters of tank placement and all prior placements will be grandfathered in. The clerk will check with the attorney.
· 704.3 fencing sections deleted refers to 734.6 for fencing regulations. Motion Ryker, second Determan, Dorr-Jones abstained from the vote, motion passed.
Motion Dorr-Jones, second Determan, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial report. Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote to adjourn at 9:17 p.m. having no further business.
