City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on May 14, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Roberta Duroe, Sheila Ryker, Shawna Dorr-Jones, Curt Determan, Lance Holmen, Maintenance. Absent: Sharen Goeman Clerk.

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. Minutes from the April 23, 2012 meeting were approved as read.

Mayor Prins reported on the LGA update.

Discussion was held on the delinquent water ordinance. The copy received from the attorney was discussed and changes were made.

Gas tank placement ordinance was clarified for the attorney. To clarify disputes between neighbors with property lines and tank placements.

The City received one lone bid for City Maintenance from Jeffers Dray Line.

Motion Determan, second Dorr-Jones, unanimous vote to accept their bid.

Motion Duroe, second Dorr-Jones to transfer $10,000 from the water fund to the general fund, unanimous vote.

Lance reported an estimate of $29,989.55 to pave Woodman Street. An estimate for intersections at Scott and Moffett is $12,785.26.

The spot in front of Ryker’s will be done by Quam, but Woodman will wait until funds are in.

Lance reported 10 comp hours.

Tree planting at the ball field will take place on Thursday. The Soil and Water Conservation donated a tree in memory of Tuck Duroe by the Tennis courts and Cody Duroe is donating a tree also.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Duroe to pay all bills and approve the financial report, unanimous vote.

Motion Ryker, second Determan, unanimous vote at 8:17 p.m. having no further business.
