City of Jeffers - City Council Meeting

The Jeffers City Council met in REGULAR session on November 26, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Present: Mayor Brad Prins, Council members: Roberta Duroe, Sheila Ryker, Shawna Dorr-Jones. Sharen Goeman, Clerk, Lance Holmen, Maintenance. Absent: Curt Determan

Mayor Prins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes from the November 12, 2012 meeting were approved as read.

Old business of extra-large piles during fall cleanup was discussed. Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker to charge an additional $10 for extra-large piles. Ryker, Dorr-Jones, Duroe, voted yes. Abstained: Prins

The bill from Jim Kartes for inspection of the Kirst house was discussed. A bill will be sent to Family Services for reimbursement.

Dorr-Jones noted that the Zoning Committee meeting is set for December 6th at 7 p.m.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Duroe to not have a meeting on December 24, 2012 due to the Christmas holiday and for the clerk to have the mayor’s and council members pay ready at the December 10, 2012 meeting.

The street sweeping has been completed. Lance also rented Carter Construction’s dump truck for the day.

Holmen reported that the Schlingman house will get a new shutoff valve when Jeffers Drayline is ready.

Miller’s Repair cement valley was completed last week.

Lance hung the holiday banners with the help of Nick Willardson.

Lance reported that the water tower will need to be inspected next summer.

Duroe presented the Community Chest report. $1,800 was collected.

Motion Dorr-Jones, second Ryker, unanimous vote to pay all bills and approve the financial report.

Motion Ryker, second Duroe, unanimous vote to adjourn at 7:52 p.m. having no further business.
